Hanbury-Autogil has learnt to be agile, it had to be! It is now benefiting from the rapid, continuous, and systematic change that the business has had inflicted on it over the past 24 months.

A perfect example would be when Covid 19 first impacted the global community. Most automated machine projects paused instantly and with all projects due to commence also put on hold. Hanbury-Autogil had to react fast, it did! By applying all of the expert engineering knowledge and experience in working across multiple industries into designing and building fully automated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) production machines. Machines that could take various materials in sheet or roll form, expose that material to multiple automated stages and finally produce a finished face mask, face visor or full rolls of PPE aprons. Innovation was key, by pushing the boundaries of innovation Hanbury Autogil designed and built the fastest PPE apron machine in the world.

In 2021, business has finally started to settle, consumers are buying, manufacturers are making and Hanbury Autogil is working on many new automation projects. Whilst being sustainable and promoting eco friendly has always sat within the heart of the company ethos it is only recently that projects have been presented with sustainability being one of the key focus points. Take for example Wavegrip, an exciting product being delivered to the beverage packaging industry. An alternative to the classic plastic can carriers, now you can safely and securely package cans of drink using a more sustainable cardboard carrier. Hanbury-Autogil designed the cardboard carrier machine, with complete automated material handling and production capability. A fully autonomous system converting material on a roll, producing the product unique shape and fixing it directly to the actual cans themselves (Wavegrip website).

LJA Miers are repeat customers at Hanbury-Autogil, LJA Miers required an automated sheeter, with slitting knives to process material for a wide number of uses. This machine was designed and built in 2021 and is now on site converting material.

Being agile was critical to Hanbury-Autogil, growing in size, new premises on the horizon and  with some very exciting automation projects in progress the future is looking very bright!
