Demands for UK Engineers Predicted to Grow
The United Kingdom has a superb reputation in providing some of the best engineering minds that the world has seen. Machine Automation requires a special type of engineering talent. With numbers of new engineers graduating falling now is a crucial time to invest in the future of UK and global engineering.
The landscape of machine automation consists of many very different brains. The non-engineering workforce cover accounts, finance, admin, marketing, human resources and the commercial footprint.
The engineering roles are explained below:
Workshop Manager
Responsibilities include but are not limited to; scheduling, maintenance programmes, responsibility over the workshop production, team management and materials procurement.
Quality Inspection
Responsibilities include but are not limited to; all areas of production quality control
Machine Operators
Responsibilities include but are not limited to; producing parts, adjusting automated machinery parts.
Machines include; lathes, drills, CNC Machines, Routers
Mechanical Design Engineers
Using SolidWorks to design automated machinery and special purpose machines, liaise with customers and clients; innovate the converting of different materials. Update standard machines, sheeters, die cutters, rotary die cutters, PPE Machines, EV Battery Machines.
Electrical Design Engineers
Working with languages; Siemans, Rockwell, Allan Bradley, Mitsubishi, Codesys an electrical design engineer will work with the mechanical design engineers if mechanical design amendments are required. Electrical design engineers are responsible for how the machine functions. Wiring diagrams, panel design and electrical parts specification are also part of the electrical design engineer remit.
Project Engineers
Responsibilities include but are not limited to; project time management, client / customer liaison, dispute resolution, project mapping / planning.
